About my Family
I live on ten acres in the country, near Cut-n-Shoot, Texas (about 10 miles east of Conroe, 50 miles northeast of Houston) with my husband Mike and our two little girls, Kayla, 13, and Kristin, 12. We have lived here since 1999, and we love life in the country! My husband loves fishing, so he's happy that we live on the edge of a large pond...and that we're close to several large lakes. I'm a photographer, so I love the beautiful scenery and wildlife that come with country life, especially the spring wildflowers, for my nature photographs. Click here to learn more about my photographs. We're also happy to raise our children in the country, yet still be close enough to the "big city" to take advantage of all Houston offers.

Check out Mike's web page. It features photos of him with the some of the fish he's caught (including his record 10.5 lb. bass!), plus info on how he converted an aluminum jon boat into a bass boat. (This page, from several years ago, is very popular with the guys!)

Also, read our story about his "Miracle on Lake Travis," his true-life miracle rescue back in 1995! The television show "It's A Miracle" (PAX) expressed an interest in Mike's story, and The Montel Williams show contacted us a few years ago about appearing on his show (We respectfully declined.)!

In 1999, Mike suffered severe neck injuries due to an accident. He's undergone numerous surgeries and lives with constant, severe pain. He is permanently disabled and unable to work. Despite all of this, he has a cheerful, loving attitude, and he is my number one supporter and encourager.

Everybody who knows me knows that my sweet husband and my wonderful children are my heart and soul. Everything I do, I do for them and for Christ who strengthens me and blessed me with this amazing family.

We are active in Fellowship of the Woodlands and are quick to volunteer with their many ministries.

About my Business
I have been blessed to build a business that allows me to do what I love -- photography -- and that allows me to financially support my family, while also giving me the flexibility to spend time with my family, while helping other families.

I am the owner of Deb Evans Photography. I have worked for myself full-time as a photographer in this business for five years, and part-time for a few years prior to that. I specialize in contemporary, fine art portraiture in your home.

I am a member of American Child Photographers Charity Guild, Professional Photographers of America, and Child & Family Portrait Photographers of America. For information on my charity work, visit this page

Homeschooling
We have always been a homeschooling family. Kayla and Kristin are in 8th grade. They are very bright, but most importantly (to me), they love learning. Among their many interests and talents, Kayla is a very talented artist, and Kristin is a whiz at origami.

We are members of Extraordinary Education, a cooperative offering educational support and services for homeschoolers. I will be teaching several classes for the 2008-2009 school year. We are also members of Homewood, a Christian, homeschooling support group.
